During the last few years Annalena and I have loved going to Berlin together. We both love Berlin, and I especially still feel at home there, but we always find that we love it even more when we go together. So the last few years we’ve been to Berlin at least once a year together. It’s not planned really – we usually at some point during the year say ‘oh it would be so fun to go to Berlin again’ and then we pick a date and then we go 😉but it’s even better if Alex is in Berlin too and we can stay with him.
Since we’ve been there a few times it’s not a touristy trip by all means, we just enjoy the city, good food and good company. So here goes the recap:
We took the train from Stuttgart to Berlin.
It takes more than 5 hours to get there. We talked and read and watched netflix.
But we could help to feel like this: Beginn of the trip
3,5 hours into the trip! (Snapchat filters for the win 🙂 )
We arrived at 1 in the morning and Alex picked us up from the train station 🙂 we talked a little and ate a little and then went to bed.
The next morning we went for
After that we walked around Berlin- Kreuzberg and went to Modulor. Modulor is a big store with everything one could need for anything art related or arts&craft or paper/pen/journal stuff. Basically HEAVEN 🙂 I didn’t take a single picture 😀
After that we went to eat at Spätzle Express😍 (never mind the fact that we just came from the south of Germany known for his Spätzle haha but they are just so good)
We finished the night going out to eat with Janis to celebrate his birthday. Good friends=the best company
We finished the night back at Alex place
The next day it was just me and Annalena because Alex was at school so we used the day to run some errands and do a little shopping.
Us as we headed out the door. Perfectly timed because the rain had just stopped.
We ran an errand, went for a haircut (we both really wanted to do that)Took the bus through Berlin because it started to rain and enjoyed the view from the top deck of the bus.
Ate lunch at some point and ended the night with a little shopping.
For our last day we spontaneously decided to meet up with Alex in Berlin-Köpenick. We wanted to buy new plates for Alex so we used the opportunity to see a part of Berlin which we have never been too. The store we wanted to go to was closed ( 🙁 bad luck) but Köpenick was really cute. We walked along main street and it had a lot of cute little stores.
The main street pretty much ended at the Müggellake. We took pictures and enjoyed the view.
For dinner we met up with Alex sister and my dad who all happened to be in Berlin that night. We ended up eating at a thai-french fusion restaurant kind of by accident. But it was the best kind of accident. We went in there because it looked cozy and then had the best food I’ve ever had. No picture will ever so it justice. Every single dish we ordered was outstanding and for the first time I totally got why every chef tastes every component of the dish seperately because every component was fabulous in itself but together it was just amazing.
Needless to say we had the night!
Annalena and I ended the night by walking over to Dussmann (a four story book store open until midnight who also has notebooks etc.).😍
The next morning we were up and gone by 5 to catch our plane back to Stuttgart…
It was such a good week! Berlin is so full of life that it’s hard not to get excited about life as well and to get to share it with friends and family was the best.
Until next time…
Love,
Madita
