HAPPY MONDAY: WHAT I LOVE TO EAT IN BERLIN

June 11, 2018

This goes in no particular order!

Nithan Thai (Chauseestraße 5, 10115 Berlin)

Nithan Thai is the one that I have been to the least out of all of them, but oh my gosh it was so good! We went there with a bunch of people and had actually booked a table for a restaurant close by but where intriged by this one when walking by. Its priced pretty high and its french-thai fusion cusine but they mixed flavors in the most unexpected ways yet so perfectly! I`m usually the one picking something on the menu I already know but with this I loved every dish we ordered and shared! Something fancy but really good!!!

Spätzle Express (Wiener Straße 11, 10999 Berlin)

Eating Spätzle is actually a thing of southern Germany and not Berlin at all, but I fell in love with the way Spätze Express in Berlin does their cheese Spätzle. So not “traditional” Berlin food (although I wouldnt know what traditional Berlin food would be haha) but oh so good! I have at least 10 pictures on my phone of eating there haha

Luxa

Another good one is Luxa. I usually get a Falafel on the go there and walk through downtown Berlin while eating. There are a few places in Berlin which make their own Falafel who taste just like the ones you would eat in Israel, I just happen to love this one. Not expensive but so good!

Zula Hummus Cafe (Husemannstr. 10, 10435 Berlin)

I read about Zula a few years ago in a magazine, tried it and fell in love. They serve Hummus and traditional Israeli food. I usually order some sort of hummus (which is served with delicious bread) a salad and sometimes french fries but I would suggest ordering small portions and sharing! Its a little more pricey but totally worth it.

Engelberg (Oderberger Str. 21, 10435 Berlin)

I actually dont know how I found this Cafe but I love eating breakfast here! It used to be really good but not so run over by tourists – I feel like more and more tourists know about it but its still good.

Tip: go on a week day, then its way more relaxed. And take cash – they dont accept any cards.

Schiller Backstube (Gotskowskystraße 11, 10555 Berlin)

Schiller Backstube sounds like a bakery but its more a small cafe than anything. They serve delicious sandwhichs and cheesecake. Its more of a local thing because its really close by to where I usually stay in Berlin and I would probably not drive all over town just to get there (what I probably would do for all the other restaurants I mentioned) but its still SO GOOD!!

HAPPY MONDAY: AMSTERDAM EDITION

May 14, 2018

Happy Monday!!

May 1st is a holiday in Germany so almost a year ago, since we realized our calenders were full before we knew it, we decided to take a trip on this long weekend. The date was set since then the destination so much haha we decided to go to Amsterdam pretty last minute. We wanted to have a nice hotel with a spa while also being in a big city to be able to go out for dinner!

I already told you this on friday but I was exhaused going into this weekend! I was very excited but very exhausted.

Annalena and I drove to Amsterdam, Janis flew in from Berlin and we all met at the hotel. The most important thing you need to know about our weekend: it rained! All weekend! The minute we set found in this city until the minute we left it, it rained. Before was sunshine and afterwards too – just not while we were there! It gave me the perfect reason to sleep in, work out (we had a beautiful gym at the hotel!), enjoy the pool and saune etc.. but it also created some tension because kind of being locked in a room/hotel for 3 days with 3 people is sometimes a little too much. We made the most of it, and we also had two rooms which made it kind of fun to go from one to the next but it also limited our options seeing the city wise. I left Amsterday after the weekend pretty relaxed and sleeping in, working out, pool and saune and having time to read was just what I needed – plus time with friends does wonder to my heart and soul! City-wise: we enjoyed our evening dinners and did some shopping but nothing major. Which was not a huge downfall since we all had been to Amsterdam before and we also didnt come to Amsterdam primarily to do sight seeing.

Here are my Amsterdam impressions:

HAPPY MONDAY NO 22 – WEDDING INSPIRATION EDITION

April 16, 2018

Good Monday!

The weather has been so good here lately and it makes for a very happy sunday for sure!

We’ve been wedding planning like its our business. I thought I would share today what served as an inspiration because it makes me happy knowing where we started and I’m excited to see how it all comes to fution.

The Wedding itself

We wanted to combine our wedding with a big get together. Really celebrate together and enjoy each others company, rather than we invite everyone for one evening. So we found a place where we can make sure that everyone has a place to sleep in an actual bed while we also have a kitchen and place to celebrate with 100 people. We combined our wedding with a weekend get together and are doing it camping style. VIEW POST

HAPPY MONDAY NO 21 – CANTARE EDITION

March 26, 2018

Happy Monday folks!

The picture above might look like nothing or pure and utter chaos but for me it holds memories of my most happy times. For the longest time I´be been organizing youth garthering in different capacities. And one year I happened to help out a friend by volunteering at his youth choir project – which started as a favor to him has turned into the absolut biggest blessing for me and my life.

HAPPY MONDAY NO 20 – DRYER EDITION

March 12, 2018

HAPPY MONDAY!

this does not look like much – and excuse the bad lighting – but nothing makes me happier right now haha WE HAVE A DRYER!

It’s not that I love using a dryer but I absolutely love the convenience of it. Our laundry is now done after only 3 hours and not 3 days. And like done done – ready to be put away. Genius! 🙂

That it makes me this happy is a testament to the fact that we officially entered the stage of being a grown up lol

Since nothing can compete with my joy over having a dryer I will leave it at that for today 😉

I hope you are having a wonderful Monday!

lots of love

Madita

HAPPY WEDNESDAY

March 7, 2018

Oh happy Wednesday!

I was so tired Sunday evening that I was like “oh well, life is more important than a blog post” but I was also certain I would write it Monday. I should have known better 😀 life always seems to get in the way. Monday a cold hit me while traveling and pretty much knocked me out Monday and Tuesday.

“SPRING: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be”

HAPPY MONDAY NO 18 – WEDDING INVITATION EDITION

February 19, 2018

Happy Monday!!

I fixed my picture uploading error – if you like to read my life lately post from last week you can do so here.

We sent out our invitations about two weeks ago and people are starting to get back to us and comment on our invitation and nothing makes me happier!

I spent hours and hours on Pinterest looking for templates that I liked because I knew that I like a good “corporate design” but also wanted to save some money and not have them custom designed. I found an invitation suite on creative market place . It had 8 templates for a Save the Date card, Invitation, Tablenumber and all sorts of cards you could use. All could be completely modified with Photoshop.

HAPPY MONDAY NO 17 – PACKING

February 5, 2018

Happy Monday!

Every Monday I share what makes my Monday or life in general very happy. You can read more about it here

I love leading a lifestyle that takes me all over Germany. I love how diverse my world is because of that and sometimes how small it seems too but it of course involves traveling.

When it comes to traveling I am rather prepared than not. If I think of something that I need to bring on a future trip I quickly write it down in my notes on my phone. So when I write down my actual packing list its already on there. Pretty convenient.

I also try do make sure I pack weather accordingly. Shampoo can always be bought if it runs out at the local store but I don’t have the money to buy another good rain jacket if it rains 7/24. Besides, I usually like the ones I have the most.

I always knew that I like it when things are organized but it just yesterday accured to me that I LOVE an organized suitcase. Just opening it made me the absolute happiest

HAPPY MONDAY NO 16 – PAPER FLOWERS

January 29, 2018

Happy Monday!!

Read about all my other Happy Mondays here

I never thought I would say this but flowers are making me extremely happy on this very Monday. A few years ago I could not have cared less for a bouquet of flowers but somehow this has changed and now its like the best suprise gift ever that I could receive.

Over the weekend 9 of us (good friends, my sister and Albrecht and I) met to prepare for our wedding in June and because I had been sick during the week two friends brought me flowers! So sweet and the best start into the weekend! And oh so fitting.

For whatever reason I thought it would be a fun and good idea to do and make paper flowers for our wedding. It pretty soon occured to me that I must have been crazy to think that this would be a good idea but let me tell you IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!!
